Backaplan is one of the biggest destinations on Hisingen for people living in Lundby, Brämaregården, Kvillebäcken, Backa and Eriksberg. It is also a transport hub where trams, buses and main roads meet. The area is changing fast, with new housing around the shopping centre, but no emergency dentist is open inside Backaplan itself yet. For acute problems, the nearest clinics are on the rest of Hisingen or across Hisingsbron. Either way, the trip usually takes less than a quarter of an hour.

Getting to a clinic from Backaplan

Backaplan is right next to Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen. Trams 5, 6 and 10 run both north towards Wieselgrensplatsen and south over Hisingsbron to Nordstan and Brunnsparken. The bus terminal at Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen connects to Vågmästareplatsen, Lindholmen and the rest of Hisingen. By car, take Lundbyleden or the new Hisingsbron from the city. There is free parking at the shopping centre.

With acute toothache, two directions are usually fastest: south over Hisingsbron towards clinics in Nordstan, Brunnsparken and Avenyn, or west to the rest of Hisingen. Tram 5, 6 or 10 from Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen takes you to Brunnsparken and Kungsportsplatsen in 8–12 minutes, and many private clinics are within walking distance from there. By car you can use Hisingsbron or Tingstadstunneln. In rush hour, the tram is often faster.

Emergency appointments can run out quickly during the working day and in the evening. For more serious problems, a confirmed appointment 15 minutes away can be worth more than waiting hours for a local one. With fever, feeling generally unwell or quickly worsening symptoms, go to an emergency department.
